Christmas Pattern Collection for Matching Parent and Child Clothing
and Blankets
This collection of two patterns were inspired by the winter holidays.
Above are the four colors of thread used in the knit patterns. This color palette was chosen from a select number of color palettes. Shown below are all of the pattern fills that were used in the different spaces of the fabric to give the illusion of there being more than four colors in the pattern.

These are the two patterns of the collection. This collection was created in Photoshop, Kaledo Print, and Kaledo Knit.

This is the same collection of patterns in an alternate colorway inspired by a more icy winter aesthetic.
Process
The motifs were made directly in Kaledo Print because of having to make the patterns in a small resolution to accommodate the knitting machine gauge. All of the motifs were made pixel by pixel in flat color.
With all of the motifs were made, it was then time to create patterns. Once the patterns were made and finished, the next step was to put pattern fills in the different areas of the design to add more depth and interest in the pattern.
Once the pattern fills were in the design, the patterns were taken from Kaledo Print to Kaledo Knit to get a simulation of the fabric. The simulations were then used to texture map the patterns onto the intended products for the designs.
